What to carry.
- Travel bags and a backpack (no suitcase-if you must please let us know)
- Small daypack about 25 – 30 liters, suitable as hand luggage

About Gorilla trekking
- In order to be allowed to visit the gorillas, good health is a prerequisite. Infectious diseases can be transmitted from humans to gorillas, thus may at cold or flu, the animals cannot be visited!
- For the walk on rough and steep paths a good physical condition is required.
- For this trip you need a yellow fever vaccination. You must present a yellow fever vaccination in the form of an international original vaccination certificate. A malaria prophylaxis is recommended.
- For the chimpanzee and gorilla trekking a basic level of fitness is required BUT you don’t have to be a mountain climber to trek the gorillas, anybody can do it.
The Tour
- This tour takes a Minimum of 4 persons per group
- The tour departs every month a minimum of 3 months is required to book and confirm the tour.
- Good health is necessary to the gorillas to visit (because infectious diseases can be transmitted to humans from gorillas, the animals may not be visited during cold and flu!). Travel insurance is therefore recommended.
- To enter you need to have 6 months minimum valid passport.

Bangui - Ledger Plaza Hotel
Meet and greet at the Ombella M’Poko international Airport this day, followed by a 25min overland transfer to the hotel for check-in, briefing, dinner, and overnight.
Bangui – Bayanga Doli Lodge
After breakfast, we leave the hotel and drive straight over the land up to the Protected Area of Dzanga Sangha in the town of Bayanga. Upon arriving, we are welcomed and immediately transferred to Doli Lodge, ideally located and overlooking the Sangha River. After the diner, overnight.
Dzanga Bai Dzanga Sangha National Park
After the breakfast today we start exploring Bayanga this morning with a visit to the famous Dzanga Baï. We board our 4WD and drive across a bumpy track as we make our way to Dzanga Baï. After approximately half an hour or so driving on a forest track, we reach the entry point of the Bai from where we embark on a 20min forest walk crossing a shallow stream (water level can reach up to the knees) as we proceed to the stilt platform erected in the middle of the forest. From this elevated watchtower, we spend the morning watching huge number of African Forest Elephants in the Dzanga clearing, as well as numerous other species like the rare Bongo, Sitatunga, Dwarf Buffalo, and a varied number of birds, all interacting in their natural social lifestyle. Diner and overnight at Doli Lodge.
Dzanga Sangha National Park: Western Lowland Gorilla in Bai Hokou, Doli Lodge
After an early breakfast, we leave the Lodge and embark on an hour forest drive to the research camp in the heart of the Dzanga Ndoki NP until we attain Baï Hokou, where our Gorilla safari starts. Tracking the Lowland Gorilla is exclusively by hike in the dark rainforest, and the walk can last in between 45 minutes and a couple of hours, which in turn depends on how far they Gorilla nestled the night before. under the leadership of our Pygmy host and guide, we trek along the jungle with many chances to encounter many other wildlife species like Forest Elephant, Dwarf Buffalos, Monkeys, Birds, Pangolin, Butterflies and much more. Upon reaching the Lowland Gorilla group, we are allowed to spend one hour watching the animals. Baï Hokou Gorillas sometimes allows a close contact with visitors and the curious younger Gorillas even exceed the closer contacts. Later on, we trek back to the camp with renewed chances to spot some wildlife along the way. From the Camp, we freshen up and go for a short walk close to the camp to watch a huge flock of Agile Mangabey interacting in their natural habitat. In the late afternoon when the wildlife interaction is declining, we leave the watchtower and trek for 20 minutes back to our car and then drive for half an hour to our comfortable lodge. We spend the rest of the afternoon chilling out in the Lodge bar/restaurant that offer a breath-taking view of the Sangha River and the surrounding forest and night.
Community activities with wonderful Baaka - Pygmies
Today in the morning we shall leave Bayanga and you will be take deep to the forest for a hunting net experience within the forest and a group of baaka’s hunters. This unique experience wil teach you how this community spend their days in the wild. In the night, you’ll be entertained by series of spectacular Ba’aka Pygmies traditional dances and chants around a gigantic woodfire. Dinner and lunch at the lodge restaurant. we drive back to our Lodge for dinner
Bayanga – Ouesso - Republic of the Congo
In the morning we board our private motorised pirogue boat for the navigation from Bayanga up to Ouesso in the border (in Congo Brazzaville) which we attain after couple of hours of navigation. Our safari car will wait for usin Ouesso. Diner and overnight at the Oliviers Hotel

After breakfast in the morning we shall leave Ouesso town and drive straight to Brazzaville where you shall have a sweet night. Stop and visit of the Equator at Makoua Town. Diner and overnight in Brazzaville.
